
Mountains for Meals
About
Mountains for Meals is similar to many patch programs here in New England, but with an exciting twist. To earn the patch, you must complete each of the mountains listed below and make a donation of your choice to the NH Food Bank. Each of the mountains have been hand picked due to a NH-based food insecurity issue & are meant to give hikers something to reflect on while completing the many miles we have to ponder the world. While some of the listed peaks are a given such as Sandwich Mountain, others pertain to the Isolation of food insecurity, or the Success that comes from making a difference locally.
Why?
Earlier this year, I was hiking up Turtleback thinking about chocolate turtles. As I trekked I thought about all the other mountains with snack-like names and moreover how one thought can occupy your mind for a whole 12 miles. Then it hit me, why not have a hiking patch that raises awareness and money for something locally actionable while doing something we love? After getting approval from my hiker friend council, I made the list, created the patch, added a tab to my website, and launched!

Hike the required hikes, fill out this form and make a donation of your choice to the NH Food Bank! $5.00 dues are collected to pay for the patch production & postage. Please direct your NH Food Bank donation to the donation page on their website.
